Prop K .. legal prostitution for US coming soon???
Posted On 10/23/2008 10:46:17 by Lolita_Rising

San Francisco could be the first major U.S. city to decriminalize prostitution.

On November 4th, the city's voters will decide whether or not to approve Proposition K, a measure that forbids local authorities from investigating, arresting or prosecuting anyone for selling sex.

Prop K wouldn't legalize prostitution, per se, because California state law still prohibits it.

However, the measure would eliminate the power of local law enforcement officials to go after prostitutes.

Proponents say the measure will free up $11 million the police spend each year arresting prostitutes and allow them to form a union of sorts that would help protect their rights and safety.

So what if prosititution ever became legal in the U.S???.... I say why not.. just make sure they all belong to a brothel and have their monthly STD/AIDS check ups...on birth control and use condoms...

Two States already have legelized prostitution..: Nevada and Rhode Island..

What are your thoughts on this?

Yah im all for that, just have to be checked weekly for any sort of STDs or STI i think is what they are calling it now adays. but yah 11 million on people who are horny and cant get sex. they are real bad guys, just really pathetic. really im sure if they could get the sex for free they would take it but since its not, if a girl is down to take money for sex then im sure they need it. and it would create more jobs! everyone wins. does that mean male prostitution would be legal? im guessing but idk about that business hah

I think that people should be allowed to whatever they want with their own bodies. I don't really think that the government should have the right to intervene in somthing like that, except for the monthly std/hiv checkups thing i totally agree with that. If they're going to legalize it, they should defiantely make sure that the people involved are being safe.
