That’s Right

Listening to the Beach Boys “Pet Sounds” on vinyl. Mono vinyl. As it was intended. Such a great album. Perhaps my favorite of all time. Brian Wilson has harmonies for days on this record. Much respect to one of the true greats!

New Camera

My new camera is set to arrive today. The Leica M9. Been waiting for this one for a while now, and am super excited to take it out and start taking more photos. I seem to go in hot and cold phases with photography, but every time I get a new camera, I get inspired [...]

Stoked

Even after 15 years, it makes my day to be driving around and have a song I wrote come on the radio. Seriously, it takes everything I have to not roll down the window and start yelling at people “THEY’RE PLAYING OUR SONG ON THE RADIO!!!” Thanks to all the stations who support us! (photo taken [...]

Pete Wentz Reviews ‘Alice In Wonderland’ For MTV News!

'Hoppus tried the old hole-in-the-popcorn-bag trick with me. It did not work. The movie, however, did,' Wentz writes.

On Thursday night in Los Angeles, Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz and Blink-182's Mark Hoppus hosted an advance IMAX 3-D screening of Tim Burton's much-anticipated "Alice in Wonderland" (just one of the perks of collaborating on a song for the film's soundtrack, we assume). They ate popcorn and wore goofy 3-D glasses, posed with a Mad Hatter lookalike on the red carpet, and afterward, took the time to write up their reactions to the film for MTV News. What can we say? They're good guys.

Here's what Wentz had to say about "Alice in Wonderland," Tim Burton's much-anticipated latest opus, which stars Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter and many others, and hits theaters today. Check out Hoppus' review right here!

"So I got the chance to go see 'Alice in Wonderland' with Mark Hoppus tonight. Before the movie began, Mark and I did a bit of a Q&A — pretty much all of our jokes went over terribly and now I wished I just had sat in my seat.

"I have to preface this by saying I am a die-hard Tim Burton fan. There isn't a single movie he has made that I don't like. I went into this thinking that it was going to be a remake, but it wasn't (apparently I had not done my research due to my excessive reading of comments on AbsolutePunk.net). What Tim did was essentially move the 'Alice' story into his own world. I don't want to give much away, but for the actors to have to work with CGI characters it appeared almost seamless. And yes, girls, Johnny Depp is still flawless in every single way. I think this is a movie I'd have to see twice to fully grasp it.

"Mark Hoppus tried the old hole-in-the-popcorn-bag trick with me. It did not work. The movie, however, did."

They're good guys.

Here's what Hoppus had to say about "Alice in Wonderland," Tim Burton's much-anticipated latest opus, which stars Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter and many others, and hit theaters Friday (March 5). Check out Wentz's review right here!

"I think it would be an incredibly daunting task to create an 'Alice in Wonderland' film that simultaneously stuck to the original text, held true to the beloved animated version, and set out to blaze its own trail. Tim Burton did an amazing job of incorporating all three into a great movie. It looks and sounds amazing, the effects are incredible, and the story moved along quickly. Johnny Depp ruled as the Mad Hatter.

"To be honest, I was a little scared walking into the theater. 'Alice in Wonderland' is one of my favorite books of all time, and I grew up loving the original animated version. How could anyone possibly attempt to build on that which has been held as perfection by generations? Tim Burton nailed it."
