of modlifers probably already know this, or some version of this due to
hearing similar statements from the guys on modblast, but in case you
hadn't heard...let us tell you!

The San Diego Reader had this to say,

"
Rick
Devoe, the Encinitas-based manager of Angels & Airwaves (and former
blink manager), says he has "no word" on a blink reunion, but he did
say the band would go into the studio to record its third CD in
January. Angels & Airwaves recently returned from playing on the
Warped Tour.

They apparently inquired of Rick about Blink because some unnamed "insider" brought it up...AGAIN.

Tom Delonge becomes a judge on MTV's new show http://b182.com/article/article_7/ http://b182.com/article/article_7/ Thu, 11 Sep 2008 23:43:48 -0500 acoustik182 http://b182.com/article/article_7/ "Engine Room," was filmed in a loft in Brooklyn's DUMBO neighborhood, in a
kinetic workspace designed for the cutting-edge digital artists competing for
global bragging rights. The team that demonstrates the most creative digital
skills will win $400K (USD), programming control of MTV's HD screen in Times
Square for the night, and additional technology prizing. The series -- which
will appear in the Unites States on MTV's college network, mtvU; globally on
MTV channels around the world; and online in nine languages at
http://www.mtvengineroom.com -- chronicles four teams of contestants as they
pursue their passion for digital art and showcase their incredible talent on a
worldwide stage.

"'Engine Room' was born to foster creativity and enable some of the most
inventive young minds to amplify how technology brings digital art to life,"
said David Roman, vice president, Marketing Communications, Personal Systems
Group, HP. "MTV is the ideal partner to share this 'battle for glory' with
viewers around the world."

Fueling the "Engine Room"

An original, short-form series, "Engine Room" follows four teams
representing Europe, Latin America, North America and Asia-Pacific,
chronicling their teamwork and creative processes using HP notebook PCs, HP
workstations, HP DreamColor displays and other HP monitors, as well as HP iPAQ
smartphones, HP all-in-one printer/scanner/fax machines, and software from HP
and its partners, such as Adobe(R). In each episode, teams compete in creative
challenges that test their digital art skills - including animation,
filmmaking, sound mixing, and web and graphic design.

Launching Sept. 15, "Engine Room" will harness the global reach of MTV's
on-air, online and mobile screens. Around the world, MTV audiences and the
show's already robust online community of artists will have a chance to become
part of the creative process by interacting with the teams, responding to
creative challenges and uploading their own work. Each week, new portfolios
and artists will be showcased on-air and online, and will compete to win HP
Special Edition notebooks. Online tutorials will also encourage viewers to try
out some of the innovative techniques they see on the show using their
personal computers.

Each challenge will be judged by an eclectic panel of iconic artists,
musicians, filmmakers, celebrities and innovators. The judging panels include:

-- Aesop Rock, hip-hop artist signed to Definitive Jux Records

-- Katherine Brinson, assistant curator, Guggenheim Museum

-- Pete Conolly, art director, Goodby Silverstein & Partners

to be announced are:

Miri Make a Porno")

"MTV has always been a home for creative innovation," said Ross Martin,
Senior Vice President of Programming, mtvU. "'Engine Room' taps the power of
HP technology to enable the next generation of digital artists to bring their
vision to life on MTV platforms around the world."

date across any MTV Networks property, nearly 2,000 artists representing more

BREAKING NEWS: Travis Barker in Plane Crash http://b182.com/article/article_12/ http://b182.com/article/article_12/ Sat, 20 Sep 2008 11:00:00 -0500 Arthur http://b182.com/article/article_12/

Former Blink-182 drummer and one-time boyfriend of Paris Hilton, Travis Barker is in a critical condition after a fatal plane crash in South Carolina.

The musician and celebrity disc jockey Adam 'DJ AM' Goldstein were riding in a Learjet private plane when it crashed shortly after departing just before midnight on Friday night.

Four people have been killed in the crash, the Federal Aviation Administration confirmed.

Critical condition: Travis Barker, pictured with ex-girlfriend Paris Hilton two years ago, is in a burns unit in Georgia following Friday night's crash

Goldstein, ex-fiance of Hilton's best friend Nicole Richie, was also critically injured in the accident and is in an Augusta, Georgia burns unit.

Beth Frits, spokesperson for the Joseph M. Still Burn Center, said: 'Both Travis Barker and Adam Goldstein are in critical but stable condition.

'Goldstein was airlifted here and Barker was brought by ground transportation. So they arrived separately. They have extensive burns.'

Barker's personal assistant Chris Baker, 29, of California, was killed, Lexington County Coroner Harry Harman confirmed.

Amongst the four killed was another male passenger, the pilot Sarah Lemmon, 31, and co-pilot James Bland, 52.

An FAA spokesperson said air traffic control saw sparks coming off the plane as it drove along the runway.

The plane went off the runway and crashed onto a nearby road.

The wreckage of a Learjet that was carrying former Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker, Adam Goldstein, also known as DJ AM, and four others rests on an embankment along Highway 302, along the outskirts of the Columbia Metropolitan Airport

Airport director Mike Flack said the jet reportedly hit the fence during take-off, pieces of the plane broke off and the fuselage caught fire.

According to Lynne Douglas, a spokeswoman for the Columbia Metropolitan Airport, both Barker and Goldstein got out of the plane themselves before emergency services arrived.

The plane was bound for Van Nuys, California after Barker and Goldstein had performed at a college gig in Columbia, South Carolina earlier that night with former Jane's Addiction singer Perry Farrell and musician Gavin DeGraw.

Representatives for DeGraw and Farrell said their client were not onboard the plane.

Eyewitness William Owens told local TV channel WIS-TV he was driving down Highway 302 when he said he saw a fireball go across the road.

'I didn't know what I had seen - it was maybe 800 feet in front of me, but as I approached it closer though, I made out a fire. By then I was able to see the tail of the jet and I recognised it as a jet.

'It's in flames and the fuel is running across the road and I had to cross the fuel to get to the two guys that seemed to have been dumped on the highway.

'We turned to the jet to try and see if there was anything we could do, but immediately, there was nothing anyone could do.'

Columbia Mayor Bob Coble said: 'It's absolutely terrible and tragic.'
